Tropical Storm Erika Update

Jackson Health System is open for business and operating as usual.

Jackson Community Mental Health Center, founded in July 2003, is a Joint Commission-accredited, community-based, multi-service organization that provides comprehensive behavioral and substance-related healthcare services for adults and children in the north and northwestern sections of Miami-Dade County.

The mission of JCMHC is to build the health of the community by providing a single, high standard of quality care for the residents of Miami-Dade County. We provide services to persons across the developmental spectrum (i.e. children, adolescents, and adults). This broad spectrum service capability enables us to meet the needs of the entire family and to provide a continuum of services across the lifespan of the individual.

JCMHC offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management, therapeutic activities in individual and group settings, and targeted case management. Targeted case management provides an array of services such as advocacy, assessment, linkage, service planning, and monitoring services for eligible JCMHC clients.

Individuals are seen by appointment at a time and place convenient for clients and their families. Office hours for Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

Families and Communities Empowered for Service (FACES)

Families and Communities Empowered for Service (FACES) is an intensive outpatient service delivery model designed to assist youth, ages 12 through 17, and their families, toward recovery and resiliency. JCMHC uses this strength-based team approach to help youth with severe mental illness and/or substance-related disorders and their families.

Services may be provided in the home, school, or other suitable locations selected by the team and family. Some key components of the FACES process is: Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Peer Support Group, High Fidelity Wraparound, SSDI/SSI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR), drug testing, motivational interviewing, and the provision of contingency funds when appropriate.

Individuals are seen by appointment at a time and place convenient for the clients and their families. Office hours for FACES are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., excluding holidays.
