Jackson Community Mental Health Center, founded in July 2003, is a Joint Commission-accredited, community-based, multi-service organization that provides comprehensive behavioral and substance-related healthcare services for adults and children in the north and northwestern sections of Miami-Dade County.
The mission of JCMHC is to build the health of the community by providing a single, high standard of quality care for the residents of Miami-Dade County. We provide services to persons across the developmental spectrum (i.e. children, adolescents, and adults). This broad spectrum service capability enables us to meet the needs of the entire family and to provide a continuum of services across the lifespan of the individual.
Services & Specialties
JCMHC provides services to more than 3, 000 adults and children annually, including:
- Child, adolescent, and adult behavioral health and substance-related services
- Case management
- Individual and group therapy
- Child, adolescent, and adult evaluations and medication management
- Crisis stabilization and detoxification services
- Assistance for individuals seeking employment and housing as part of their treatment plan
Services are available at two convenient locations tailored to meet the needs of the individuals we serve.

Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services
JCMHC provides treatment to children and adolescents with a wide range of childhood conditions that may affect daily life functioning such as:
- Anger management
- Anxiety and panic
- Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Depression and mood disorders
- Drug and alcohol/substance use
- Immigration and acculturation issues
- Issues associated with aging
- Psychological testing
- Psychotic disorders
- Relationship problems
- Suicidal ideation or self-injurious behavior
- Trauma
Services are provided in the community at the child’s home and school, as these environments are most natural to the child and family. Working with parents is an integral part of therapy. Therefore, JCMHC providers work with their clients’ caretakers to ensure treatment success.
JCMHC offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management, therapeutic activities in individual and group settings, and targeted case management. Targeted case management provides an array of services such as advocacy, assessment, linkage, service planning, and monitoring services for eligible JCMHC clients.
Individuals are seen by appointment at a time and place convenient for clients and their families. Office hours for Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., excluding holidays.
Families and Communities Empowered for Service (FACES)
Families and Communities Empowered for Service (FACES) is an intensive outpatient service delivery model designed to assist youth, ages 12 through 17, and their families, toward recovery and resiliency. JCMHC uses this strength-based team approach to help youth with severe mental illness and/or substance-related disorders and their families.
Services may be provided in the home, school, or other suitable locations selected by the team and family. Some key components of the FACES process is: Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Peer Support Group, High Fidelity Wraparound, SSDI/SSI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR), drug testing, motivational interviewing, and the provision of contingency funds when appropriate.
