EDUCATION

Thomas R. McHugh, L.C.S.W., B.C.D. received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He also received his graduate degree in clinical social work from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed National Association of Social Workers approved internships at Family and Children's Services of Western Pennsylvania and St. Francis Medical Center

CREDENTIALS/PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Mr. McHugh has had extensive experience in both public and private mental health settings dating back to 1978. Mr. McHugh served as a senior clinician from 1991 until 2007 with the Center for Pediatric Psychiatry and Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and was on associate staff of the Behavioral Science Division of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. In addition to clinical services for children and adolescents, Mr. McHugh trained graduate psychology and social work interns.

BOARD CERTIFICATION

In addition to being licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Mr. McHugh is also a Board Certified Diplomate In Clinical Social Work with the American Board Of Examiners In Clinical Social Work.

SPECIAL INTERESTS

Child and adolescent behavioral medicine. Areas include attention deficit disorder anxiety disorders, mood disorders, adjustment difficulties and adaptation to chronic illness.
